Get Off the Gas: BVN Supports 100% Electric and Carbon Neutral Building
BVN is joining with architectural practices across Australia, to advocate for the design and uptake of building concepts that are 100% electric and carbon neutral in operation. In short, that means: no gas.
This campaign is part of BVN’s overall journey Towards Net Positive.
The practice is proud to work with an increasing portfolio of clients and projects that share high, green ambitions. Amongst these are:
- Atlassian Central (Sydney)
- John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle)
- Win GRAND (Wollongong)
- ANU Kambri (Canberra)
- Green Square Public School (Sydney)
As Australia moves towards into a decarbonising economy, buildings and assets will need to be retrofitted - removing equipment reliant on fossil fuels. All-electric buildings are a step ahead, negating this need, making them future-proof and financially sound.
BVN is investing heavily in its own in-house sustainability leadership to support the journey towards a net positive future. BVN REgenerative is the firm’s upskilling program, designed to ensure every architect and designer is equipped to advocate for and deliver, future-ready buildings, precincts and neighbourhoods.
Partnering with The Footprint Company, BVN REgenerative is developing carbon tracking systems, new methodologies for sustainable hospitals, schools, universities, commercial towers, defence precincts and masterplans. And, new ventures to speed up the transformation of legacy systems. The approach is transparent, rigorous and authentic.
Co-CEO Ninotschka Titchkosky says: “Our greatest challenge is to transform the way we design and build and inspire others to do the same.”
