BVN becomes Climate Active Certified

BVN is honoured to have been awarded Climate Active certification in acknowledgement of our commitment to sustainability. This is a big win for us as a practice, as well as for our projects, our collaborators, our people and our environments. We join a global network of organisations with a shared commitment to real and authentic decision making about treading lightly on the earth. Our industry is pivotal to sustainability action and we are proud to become an official Climate Active Organisation.

It’s a commitment that extends both inside and outside our organisation. How we run our studios. How we travel to work. How we design our buildings. How we chose our suppliers.

So what exactly does Climate Active certification mean? Well, it’s a standard based on a sustainability audit of company operations. That means energy supply, waste management, food and beverage provisions, even the way we get around. Climate Active certification is recognised as one of the most rigorous standards in the world.

For BVN, holding this certification means making decisions every day about how we work, through the lens of our environmental impact.

Further, Neil states “our actions have to be aimed at regenerating the planet and this starts with getting our own house in order. We are aiming for better than climate neutral. We’re aiming for ‘climate positive’. Securing Climate Active Certification has been crucial to this process."
