Evolving Our Collective Creativity: BVN announces Ali Bounds will join Neil Logan as co-CEO from 01 April 2024
BVN today announces a change in leadership, welcoming Ali Bounds to the role of co-CEO alongside current co-CEO, Neil Logan . BVN’s co-CEO model reflects a collaborative approach fundamental to the studio’s values. Ali and Neil will continue the legacy of this shared role and strengthen BVN’s collective creativity to design a better future.
“The role exists at BVN to support the development of our strategy, future planning and culture leadership,” says Ali Bounds. “I am particularly excited about continuing to build on my studio experiences in my commitment to the whole practice” she adds. “I look forward to working more directly with Neil in a partnership that maintains continuity while also embracing change as BVN responds to the needs of our industry.”
With a passion for architecture that enables thriving communities, Ali Bounds has been with BVN for 12 years and a part of the principal leadership team since 2019. Her experience spans many sectors, including adaptive reuse, education, and public buildings, with a focus on creating connections and placemaking outcomes.
Since it was established in 2019, the co-CEO position has been held by Neil Logan and Ninotschka Titchkosky. Their five-year tenure has seen BVN expand its portfolio of work across the global studios, leading with a clear vision and strategic direction for BVN.
Ninotschka and Neil’s partnership has guided BVN’s transition to a future-focussed practice. During their period as co-CEOs, Ninotschka and Neil led BVN’s development of innovation and research capabilities, the studio’s climate positive accreditation, prioritised regenerative practice and strengthened gender equity across the practice.
“In the years that Ninotschka and I were fortunate to share the position of co-CEO, we were able to develop the strength and diversity of the practice leadership to help motivate and inspire the collective creativity of BVN,” says Neil Logan.
“Ali has consistently demonstrated her passion for the people of BVN, for our work, and our clients. As she joins me in the role of co-CEO, I look forward to working together, drawing on her experience and unique perspective,” he adds.
Ninotschka’s journey at BVN has spanned more than 20 years, in which time she has led high profile projects, such as Atlassian Tech Central and Kambri at Australian National University. Developing a culture of research within the practice, Ninotschka has also led BVN’s ventures in robotics and digital fabrication.
“BVN is a family of great people and having the opportunity to co-lead BVN over the last 5 years has been so rewarding. I’m excited to see how BVN continues to evolve with Ali and Neil,” she adds.
Taking this opportunity to cast her net beyond BVN and explore the power of creativity, advanced technologies and whole systems thinking, Ninotschka looks forward to continuing to lead organisations to a regenerative future. Following a successful six-week transition, Ninotschka will depart BVN on 28 March 2024 with Ali Bounds and Neil Logan commencing their co-CEO partnership effective from 01 April 2024.
