The NORFORCE (North-West Mobile Force) is a regiment of the Australian Army Reserve responsible for surveillance and reconnaissance of the remote areas and coastline of North-Western Australia.

NORFORCE patrols the largest area of operations of any military unit today. The majority of personnel are Indigenous soldiers recruited and deployed back into their home communities.

The project delivers a new Headquarters, working accommodation, logistics support, and training facilities for the Regiment at Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin. Located in Larrakia country, the facility adjoins the Gundal ceremonial site, which is culturally significant to the Larrakia people.

New accommodation is provided within two consolidated, double-storey buildings that are simple and robust in character and form and designed to provide clear and meaningful visual connections with the adjacent sacred site. Large overhanging roofs offer shelter from the harsh climate, with significant undercover training spaces.
