Belonging in the Future

This week BVN is immersed in our own curated festival of ideas: FUTURES FORUM. This is the third iteration of the event which began in 2012 as a forum for learning and discourse. It allows us the space and time to consider significant topics of our time, to nurture us intellectually and bring us together.

FUTURES FORUM 3 puts forward this proposition

In our view, if we are to survive this century we need to synthesize and commit to a range of issues, of which three are particularly pressing:

  • Firstly, to seek coalescence with First Nations people so that we can develop a joint and harmonious relationship with the land and a shared future.
  • Secondly, to embed fundamental values of respect for the earth in the form of acceptance of the universality of the natural world and embed sustainability as a fundamental societal tenet.
  • Thirdly, to understand, embrace and celebrate technology.

Consequently, FUTURES FORUM 3 seeks an understanding of how these issues weave a motion of belonging and embedment. Hence: “Belonging in the Future”.
